Air results with suggestion link

Because of the limitations of our GDS we had to introduce flexible search as a recovery technique. In this case, the suggestion is something you didn't ask for, but it might interest you. Thus the design should interrupt you but not get in the way.

Recommendation hub

Once a customer clicks on a suggestion link, we take them to a recommendation-hub. This is where we suggest quite a few different ways they can save on their trip. Most travel sites implement a +1/-1 day search in a grid. In our usability testing, users found a grid confusing. So I designed a simpler approach - a list.

Getting a customer back to where they came from

Since we're offering a customer more powerful search tools, we had to provide them very clear ways to get back to their original search. In addition to using the browser back button, navigation at the top of the list provided a way to return to their original search.
